Title
The 1st Infantry Division, famously known as the Big Red One, led the assault on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Tasked with capturing a five-mile sector between Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes and Vierville-sur-Mer, the division encountered devastating fire from the German 352nd Infantry Division. Despite sustaining over 3,000 casualties in the first few hours, the grit and leadership of individual squads allowed the Allies to breach the 'Atlantic Wall' and begin the liberation of Western Europe.\n\nThis is a full diorama kit representing the desperate struggle for the bluffs. The set includes 10 American infantrymen in various combat poses (including advancing, firing, and casualties), 2 German defenders, 3 Czech Hedgehog beach obstacles, and a multi-part cliffside bunker section complete with sandbagged MG42 nest and rocky terrain base.
