The pilots of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) were among the most rigorously trained aviators at the start of the Pacific War. During the Battle of Midway in June 1942, these men operated from the decks of the Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Hiryu, engaging American SBD Dauntless and TBD Devastator bombers. Their equipment was characterized by high-quality flight suits, leather flight helmets with goggles, and life vests, all designed to offer maximum mobility and survival chances during long-range over-water sorties.\n\nThis high-detail figure set includes 5 individual Japanese Navy pilot miniatures in standing poses, ideal for aircraft carrier deck or airfield dioramas. Each figure is uniquely sculpted with period-accurate gear, including flight harnesses, specialized IJN life vests, and sidearms. The varied stances and facial expressions reflect the disciplined yet resolute character of the IJN air arm during the height of its power in the Pacific Theater.
