During the Ardennes Offensive in the winter of 1944, American soldiers were thrust into a desperate defensive struggle against a massive German counter-attack. The conditions in the Ardennes forest were notoriously brutal, with sub-zero temperatures and deep snow forcing troops to rely heavily on wool overcoats and improvised cold-weather gear. The defense of Bastogne became a symbol of American resilience, as paratroopers and infantrymen refused to surrender while surrounded by Axis forces in the frozen woods.\n\nThis miniature set includes 5 individual US soldier figures dressed in heavy winter overcoats and M1 helmets.
