The French infantryman of 1940 entered the conflict equipped with gear that closely mirrored the aesthetic of the previous Great War, most notably the iconic Adrian helmet and long greatcoats. Despite the rapid tactical shifts of the German Blitzkrieg, many French units showed immense bravery in localized counter-attacks and during the defense of key river crossings. Their standard armament, the Lebel or MAS-36 rifle, was handled by soldiers who often found themselves outmaneuvered by enemy combined-arms tactics despite their own individual tenacity and training.\n\nThe set includes 5 uniquely posed infantry figures captured in dynamic combat and advancement stances. The inventory features 1 squad leader gesturing orders, 2 riflemen advancing with leveled weapons, 1 soldier in a high-ready position, and 1 rifleman moving forward with a slung rifle, all featuring detailed greatcoats, puttees, and M1915/26 Adrian helmets.
