The 8th Army's stand in North Africa was characterized by grueling grit and tactical ingenuity under the scorching desert sun. These soldiers, often referred to as the 'Desert Rats,' were equipped with lightweight khaki drill uniforms and specialized webbing suited for the high-mobility warfare of the Western Desert. Their defense of the Libyan port of Tobruk became a symbol of Allied defiance, as they utilized entrenched machine gun positions and coordinated rifle fire to halt Rommel's advance toward the Suez Canal.\n\nThe set includes a diverse combat group of 6 personnel in desert gear and shorts. The inventory features 1 three-man Vickers Machine Gun team (gunner, loader, and spotter), 2 riflemen in prone firing positions, and 1 NCO or infantryman advancing with a fixed bayonet, all wearing the standard Brodie-pattern steel helmet.
