The 1st Marine Division famously spearheaded the grueling Guadalcanal Campaign beginning in August 1942, enduring intense tropical heat, tropical diseases, and relentless Japanese assaults. Securing the perimeter around Henderson Field required constant vigilance, and the capture of enemy personnel provided critical battlefield intelligence during the early, uncertain months of the Pacific campaign.
The set includes 8 US Marine combat personnel figures in various realistic guard and relaxed poses, 3 seated Imperial Japanese Army prisoners of war, 1 heavy water-cooled machine gun emplacement, sandbag defensive fortifications, and a detailed jungle base featuring two integrated palm trees.
